R57ordered!

Well nearly! Been in the dealers today and seen the pre-order detail and will be back in on Wednesday 3 Dec to do the official paperwork (the first day that the they can actually place orders on Works). First cars will be Cooper & S versions with One to follow in 2010.
Dealer cars will be in the showroom on 28th March 09 and hopeful of getting ours first part of April.
Got a few days now to pour over the options but will be S with Chilli pack as a starting point!
Decisions, decisions.

Very many congratulations from a founder member of the "Waiting Impatiently for R57 Club"!

My dealer still insists the specs will not be available on the system before the official launch on 10th Jan at Detroit Motor Show...so it's interesting that yours has given you a date of next week. Makes me wonder - are sales of the other MINIs now so bad that they are bringing forwards production of the R57, even if the release date remains the 28th March?

I'm advised that a Diesel Cabrio will also join the line-up, but only in 2010 (strange, considering BMW/MINI's claims to be promoting green motoring....)

Which colour are you going for?

Ian

(BTW - maybe it's time that the R57 forum was "promoted" from future variants?)

Seeing as this is my wifes car (or so she thinks!!), she'll have the final choice, but more than likely Pepper White with brown hood, brown 'Lounge' leather interior. Plus the new black 5 spoke wheels - very much like the one shown on World Car Fans - cant show link as not enough posts yet!!

Did the dealer by chance mention anything about a JCW Cabrio and when that might be available??

Yes he mentioned that there was to be a JCW version - but I didn't ask when. I'll find out more once I've gone through our spec process this week. What a week to order a convertible - it's currently -3C outside and a snowing furiously!

R57 Ordered (Finally!)

OK, so we have now sent off the final spec for our new R57 - in the end we went for Horizon Blue after all...becuase I trust implicitly all those who have seen samples and told me it's actually a great colour!

But we are sticking with a black roof - I couldn't order the brown.

And just to make life fun, we have sent off the final spec for the Chili Red Clubman D at the same time

So, by sometime next spring, we will have joined the group of 2-MINI families

All very exciting!

Ian

Awesome! Congratulations! I have to wait still but how great that you went for the HB color. It's going to look great. I would have been tempted to get blue leather and the denim top. But that could be overkill, huh, ha,ha

I'm happy for you both!

Now I am Looking forward to the commute! MINI Cooper S Cabrio

Thanks all!

Sorry, but the Hot Chocolate didn't tempt me for one second - I'm just not that sort of guy!

Red would have been first choice, but the missus grabbed that for her new Clubby, so I had to think different. Taking a risk with the unseen Horizon Blue, but will find out from dealer what the drop dead date for a spec change is.......
