Daft question but I will ask it anyway - why do these spy shots always have tape around the front and rear lights???

I think that it looks very nice, subtly different to the current car.
Looking forward to the new
JCW version!

Exhaust does look a bit huge. Tape etc. are to hide details.

New
JCW version looks different again, with a sort of "aero" bodykit from the factory. So I hear.

I'm surprised at how similar the car suddenly looks to the current car with these photos... its almost as if it is a current car with a mid life facelift, rather than a whole new design. Which is re-assuring, I think.....
I hope the do something a bit more special with the front grill.... looks a little plain.
I'm guessing the really big changes are going to be on the inside.
Will be good to see the car in a real vibrant colour, like red/white roof. These dull colours that the mules are in are making the Mini look like a dull, unimaginative car......

The black plastic and tape on the cars is also to stop your eye quite visualising the true lines of the car before release.

I like some of the wacky designs other manufacturers use to cover up details and lines, with crazy patterns all over them.

Camo...again stops the brain from properly being able to visualise the true lines of the car.
