I went to my local dealership today to firm up the spec I want on my Cooper S prior to test driving it on the launch weekend. While I was there I asked (more in hope than expectation) whether there was any chance of getting one or two of my chosen options free in lieu of a discount. As I expected the Sales Manager said no but I wondered whether anyone else had managed to persuade their salesman to give them any freebies on their R56 Cooper or S?
I doubt they are going to give away freebies this early in the game; although you may get a gesture of goodwill dependant on the dealer.
People are flocking to buy a Car most of them have never set eyes on, BMW/Mini know they are on to (yet another) winner, I don't think they feel the need to give away freebies to intice people in further.
Perhaps they'll budge a bit more once the car has been around a few months.....but then again this is Mini , so you'll be hard pushed to get anything out of them anyway!
Just to add another dimension to the debate, how many people that have had anything free (be that fuel, cherished transfer, options, accessories etc) also do not have a part exchange?
