| Haven't you already asked this question? ![]() Obviously it is right, otherwise they wouldn't have published the figures. These figures are an improvement on the 1st Generation, where the differences between Manual and Automatic were 1.3 seconds for the Cooper and 0.5 seconds for the Cooper S |

| Thanks for asking that question Dazmac13. Knowing the different times between the R53 manual and auto puts the differences between the R56 manual and auto into perspective. And thank you Scrogg for your answer. Now I know more than I did. |

| In general, the lower the power, the bigger the peformance difference. Some very low powered economy cars used to only be available with a manual gearbox because an automatic dropped their performace to an unacceptable level. Robert Stancliff Sr. |
