Guys, I went to the factory this morning for a tour, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

It was a real eye opener and I was blown away by the complex logistical side of the operation.

The production line is set up to deliver every unique customer order for global distribution using J.I.T (just in time) manufacturing - i saw cars on the moving production line in all the colours available, right and left hand drive, cars going to North America/Asia (identifiable with additional reflectors), R53, R56s, hard tops, convertibles - all coming down the same production line and fitted to the exact customer spec. It was really impressive. And I saw a bunch of new MSC in different colours all getting ready to be shipped out to you folks out there still waiting

I highly recommend this tour - only £7 for each visitor - and it was great to see the birthplace and spirital home of my DS MSC!!

I am organising a trip down for newminiscotland.co.uk for 66 of us in April. The lovely Ulrike at Plant Oxford has sorted us out with the tours.

This will be our third time down and a round trip of 1000 miles in 2 days is a blast..

It is fascinating to see all the cars being built and the 2 older gentlemen that took us round the last time were a hoot!

book in advance cc07ers - really easy and they are so friendly.

the number is 01865 825842 - couple of emails later and you are sorted with a date!! lead time can be as little as 1 week. Get dialing!! Well worth it. Boys above agree too

my tour guide said it is actually possible to see your very car on the assembly line if you time it right. They need some order code from your dealer so they locate it - every car is barcoded and tracked in the factory - good luck with spotting your beast

Wish I'd known this earlier! Booked in for a tour on 10th Feb but our new CR/B MCS has already been born! Still, will be a good day. Went a year or so ago and really enjoyed it; those robots are mesmerising! Looking forward to seeing how things have changed post factory expansion.
