Tyre pressure for 17" crown spoke alloys?

Hi, I've looked in the manual and it says check the drivers side door, which I have but it doesn't tell me the PSI value to inflate the tyres to.

Could anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks

Yes there is a sticker in the door aperture, and it says ( I think) 2.2 or 2.4 bar. But all the air compressors on the garage forecourts have a PSI value that you have to put in. Am I being stupid or why don't they have a PSI value on the door aperture.

bar is a german thing i think vw only have bar as well, most forecourts should have both scales one is in red one is in black, alternatively get one of them digital pressure gauges they will do bar or use that convertor

2.2 bar almost 32 psi

2.4 bar almost 35 psi

I'm running 17" Crown spoke alloys with Dunlop Sport SP 205/45/17's run flats.

The door sticker says 2.5 Bar with two people, and 2.8 Bar fully laden.

That's PSI values of 36 and 40 respectively.

Brilliant posts guys, and certainly eye-opening.

I picked up my '57 Dooper (with Auto stop-start) last Friday and couldn't understand why my fuel consumption was way off the quoted figures. Admittedly nobody actually expects to get what's quoted but near would be good!

Checked my tyre pressures today on Dunlop Sport SP 205/45/17's and they were all reading 29.5 psi! No wonder the car felt a bit sluggish up hills!

Anyway, just pumped them up to 34 and we'll see what happens - if nothing improves it's going back to the dealer to check why it's guzzling fuel!
