Well i've driven the R56MCS a few times before but was not bowled over compared to my 06MCS with a few mods.

That was until today when I test drove a well run in ( 3k miles ) demo. It IS faster than mine, it handles better and rides LOADS better. It also returned 34mpg compared to 24 mpg on same roads as mine.

This together with the news that 08 model year ( 1st Aug ) lowers fuel consumption another 10% and halves road tax compared to mine and it really is a no brainer.

Now for the spec. what's peoples opinion on this:

07 MCS PW / B ( 08 Spec )
Chilli Pack
Black Bonnet Stripes
LSD
Interior Chrome
Full Punch Leather
Brushed Alloy trim
Sports suspension
18" JCW R105 Alloys in Black Finish
JCW Black front grill surround
Carbon mirror covers and rear boot handle

Anybody with 18" alloys comment on the need for steering limiter and realignment check !

Neither me or the sales guy can see the point of paying £200 for this when the rim width or wheel / tyre diameter doesn't change !

J.

Sounds fantastic mate

I'd go for the AeroKit if I were you though, it would really look good with the 18's

My original plan was to opt for this, however i'm really not that keen now for the following reasons:

Always liked the front bumper - really aggresive
Never keen on the rear bumper - looks like a fiat cincequento ( spelling ) sport thingy !
Was always going to keep standard side skirts as the aero ones are chavtastic ( IMHO of course )

And finally I found out that I can change the chrome grill surround to the black aero kit version which is my mane concern with the front design.

Thanks for the support guys

I've got the 18's had them swapped onto the car from my cabrio as part of the deal and they put the limiter on, but I'd definitely have the alignment checked at an independent place that has the 4 wheel laser tracker. I've had 3 S's and they all needed some adjustment. My 1st S 's Dunlop's(18's) were finished after 6.5k! Very expensive, had the alignment done and I could really feel a difference in the way the car handled and the tyres lasted much much longer, so had the next car done as a matter of course (a cabrio) which needed adjustment--again felt a difference in the handling had the wheels and tyres put onto my R56 S got that checked over again needed adjustment and they've lasted 9000 miles (5.5k on the cab.3.5k on the R56) so far with loads of tread still on them. had the check each time at Elite tyres in Essex.

Cheers

Den
