Dark Silver New little beast has arrived...

Yesterday afternoon went to pick up my fit as, brand spanking new DS/W MCS with rather fetching Redwood Leather interior (who from now on will be referred to as Scoot).
What a car.
Had turned my nose up at the R56 when it was launched but have been totally won over. I was expecting to feel a bit guilty about selling Jeff (my 05 HB/W MCS) but haven't loked back.

For anyone else considering getting the change from old to new, here's a bit of a layman's breakdown (I'm no car pro but I love my minis).
Gearbox is worlds apart from the last one. Much, much smoother.
Engine is a lot less twitchy around town.
Interior feels much more refined than before.
Ride is much more comfortable over lumps and bumps but still holds the corners.
Standard Boost system is nowhere near as bad as people have made out unless of course you are the type of person who cruises round town with the windows down listening to JayZ/euro trance at ear bleeding levels! (I had HK and was a bit concerned it would sound like a mobile phone speaker in comparison)....

Had a couple of niggles - plastic ring around filler cap is loose (they're getting me a new one).
Rear O/S light cluster clip is on slightly wrong (not a big job.
Coloured lights inside are all over the place. Don't think any two are the same colour at any one time and the one in the passenger door vanishes on blue.

All in all though, fit car. At first I thought the front looked a bit awkward but I now look at it and think it looks stealth - and a lot more masculine.

Oh, and the the roundthingputitintheholeandpressabuttontostart is soooooo cool (I'm very easily pleased by those things).

So anyone else considering taking the plunge, come on in, the water's fine!

Ben.

Hello..... pleased your happy with you new mini

I read you comment on the mood lighting not working correctly in your passsenger arm rest.
I had the exact same fault but in the drivers arm rest.

I removed the arm rest cover....just pops off.......and fount the LED module.....this just unclips.

There are 2 LED's blue and orange.....my blue one was blown.....ordered the part and sorted it myself......now full disco as you drive! rave safe kids

I kinda guessed it looked the same as every other DS/W MCS. Thought I'd save Paul a bit of bandwidth.
When I sort out some graphics, THEN I'll do photos.
