Question Probably been asked....

This has probably already come up, but does anyone in the know, know if there is going to be a GP version of the R56 Cooper S. Interested, because this may determine my next car choice. NOT THAT I DON'T LOVE MY MCS, but, i am sadly, a power addict, and i feel , unless someone get's their thumb out of their backside, (GTT, ALTA etc. this does not include you guys, i know you are on the ball), the R56 MCS is going to soon be surpassed by a number of same size, but more powerful cars. I think BMW could have done a lot more with this engine, and the running platform. I am certain, a high powered, 4WD beast is not out of reach. The Mini has always been a great car to modify, so why not go in this type of direction, i'm talking, SCOOBY beating performance by the way.

I'd be very surprised if there were a "GP" version of the R56, as it was only ever produced to keep interest in the old MCS alive while the new R56 was being readied (no disrespect intended to GP owners, I take a picture every time I see a GP! )

If it's outright performance that you are looking for, you're always going to be better off waiting for the likes of GT Tuning to come up with something, as they will always push the boundaries further than BMW ever will!

May '04 - Feb '07 R50, Feb '07 - May '10 R53. Enjoyed our time with MINI's, but ran out of space! Now Focus RS & Land Rover powered...
