United-Kingdom Ordering my 3rd Cooper S

Hi fellow Mini drivers,

I am currently on my second Cooper S, an R56 in Laser Blue which I've owned from new since October 06. Am looking to change and having looked at a number of other brands inc the Audi TT and BMW 1 Series Coupe (sorry but keeping options open!) I am still drawn back to ordering another Cooper S.

Am definately having the JCW Aero Kit and my biggest dilemma is colour, do I go for Pepper White or Chili Red?

Also, can anyone advise as to whether the Nokia N95 works correctly with the Bluetooth kit?

Any feeback greatly appreciated as need to place order asap to get build slot in March for April delivery.

Here's the spec:

Cooper S (R56)
Pepper White or Chili Red
JCW Aero Kit
17" Web Spoke Alloys
Sports Suspension
Chili Pack
Lounge Leather Carbon Black
Piano Black Trim
Chrome-Line Interior
Darkened Rear Glass
Visibility Pack
Rain Sensor & Lights On
DAB Digital Radio
HiFi Speaker System
Bluetooth with USB Audio (inc. MFSW & Armrest)

Sounds like a cool spec, now PW amd CR both look awesome on the cooper s with the aero kit and big alloys but i think in the end id get chilli red with the black roof, mirrors and stripes, and maybe even add carbon fire bits to it.

Plus id also recomend auto aircon as it looks better than the standard manual, and i think it works better too.

Ive currently got Laser blue too, and even though im not changing it at the mo, i think id go for Chilli red next.

I am ALWAYS happy and smiley

seems madness to me to change again already for the same car. if you are going to change then go for another marque. The New TT is a cracking car though, and Mini could learn a lot of things from Audi on how to build a good quality car. Personally thats where my money would be going, oh and make sure its a 2.0 T don't bopther with the V6

The Nokia N95 works superbly in the Factory Bluetooth cars.....................certainly not a problem and my car is 11 months old now.

Thanks Tony, just checking that by superbly, you mean that you can access phonebook through the MFSW and on the radio display.

The rep at our local dealer had no clear cut answer, hence why I asked on here

Thanks for your advice, I have spec'd with auto air con, sorry I see that as standard as couldn't managed without it!

Am so torn between the two colours!

Bah! All black all the way! Pepper White and Red is nice (our showroom had a red JCW CS with all the stuff!). Not an overkeen fan on the red though. Laser Blue is prob the next best colour. The main reason I went for all black is because I saw a MCS with the spoiler, R109 alloys and it was stunning in all black! May be tempted to get some white stripes eventually if I fancy tarting it up a bit. I've gone for everything on your spec minus the sports suspension, DAB, auto aircon and bluetooth. I've had to keep the factory built spec as low as possible to keep the monthly payments down but not sacraficed the essentials I would regret if I didn't get them. I want the R109s alloys (which are £2000 alone!) and the JCW Spoiler at £500! So it ain't gonna be cheap.

Good luck with your order though and get what makes you happy. By the way, the MCS now comes with DSC as standard as it'll be a post March 08' car.

I think the leather is shocking , i had it & it goes all saggy. Mine had only done 4500miles & looked like it neede a face lift.

That may have been the case with the Mk1 TT but the MK2 is a great car, My other half is awaiting delivery of a MCS any day now, and I cant help thinking that for another few £k she could have been in a TT.

I agree with the other post the 3.2 isnt worth the extra £ (I should know I had one for three months and then drove the 2.0 and saw the error of my ways!)

To say the TT is just an expensive VW is a joke when you can spend £30k on a MCS!! Dont get me wrong the Mini is a fantastic little car but at £20k for an average specced one I think its BMW that are having a laugh

Couldn't agree more the 2.0 TFSi is a peach of an engine and the TT is now a proper drivers car.

I'd go for Pepper White - the red is OK - but the white looks more expensive in my opinion. I've got a 3 series with bluetooth and my N95 doesn't work properly - I don't get any of the contacts / missed called / dialed calls etc. so its great to receive calls, but to make them can be a bit of a pain - I'd be suprised if the Mini was much different, but happy to tbe proved wrong.

New TT - nice car, but if you're going tpo spend that sort of money, I'd look at either a second hand Z4 M (easy to find one for 25K) or a 350Z, or a second hand Boxter - these are all cars which compare in driving fun to the Mini - the TT is better than it used to be - but IMOH, not good enough!

I think a TT with the necessary options is about £27k?

Decent spec MINI is about £21k
