As a former MINI LPG owner my advice is don't bother, the new MINI engine is pretty complex engine fitting a LPG system on there would be very risky. Plus you may find there's not enough room for the conversion.

Get a Cooper D and if you want more performance go for a chip.

What makes you say that? Wha'ts so complex? The ECU?
Mine works great, switches over no problem, no silly dashboard lights.
The only problem I have is a slight leak causing it to smell and apart from the tank, fits in the engine bay fine!

370 miles of driving for £22, can't complain at that.

MartinH32 says he gets 40 mpg from gas,

I get 46.8 mpg from my cooper MK2.
As for the governments slant on LPG, if you convert to gas you have zero CO2 emissions, does this get you into the lower road fund tax bracket? NO. This should tell you that the government has NO intention of gas having a long term tax benefit over petrol.
