What options for cooper S and is LSD essential?

Currently looking for a 07/08 MCS and just wanted some opinions. What options are a must for resale? The only options I need is a/c. What other options should I look for so in a years time I can sell the car easily and not too much depreciation?

The other question is weather the LSD is essential. This car will be used for country road blast (single track/white roads) so is LSD benificial? I'll be using something else for trackdays.

Most cars will come with CHILLI pack which includes AC. I think people think this is an "essential".

However, it costs £2k. I bet a 3 year old car without it is not worth more than £2k less!

Well, if you're not going on the track with her I'd say not to worry about the LSD and rather spec some "cosmetic" options... For me chilli pack is essential so this includes xenons and climate control. I think something (which I unfortunately don't have) but can highly recommend is the anthrasite rooflining. Just gives the car a very sporty ambience... I've heard that the sunroof helps with the resale (here in SA anyways) but I can live without one even though I have one...

I want LSD!

I read an article on the R53 in Performance Car which actually says that all Facelifted Chilli R53's come with an LSD - so I was stoked! Then asked everyone here in a different thread, and was told that it wasn't true. Booo hoooo.

Justin

Hey Rec, not sure of the UK spec on the Chili Pack but in SA it's got the "Automatic Aircon" / Climate control included. Other items are xenons, sport seats (half leather), passenger height adjustments, Extended light package, storage compartment, 17" run flats and velour floor mats...

Yes, this is a recent (2009) change for the UK Chili pack, as manual a/c is now standard across the range.

Yes, in my opinion MINI made a mistake in pumping the price of the standard car due to the AC and not reducing the price of the CHILLI pack. What they did was include basic bluetooth and auto AC and not change the price.

Two things I am not interested in!

The CHILI pack is expensive but the Xenons make it really worth it! My mum's Cooper has standard headlights and they are very poor, but my Xenons are fantastic!

Also the wheel upgrade and half leather seats upgrade will make the car much more desirable in the future

LSD and chilli it is then. Shame the MINI search criteria don't include LSD. Only found one with LSD so far but on a 07 plate. How much should I be looking at for one with LSD on an 08 plate?
