Mini Cooper S JCW Tuning kit stopped production? - MINI Cooper Forum

Hi everyone,

Its my first time posting on this forum, but have been a good reader for 2 years...its a fantastic site...

I own a 2008 Cooper S and have recently decided to go with the JCW Stage 1 tuning kit. However the reply I got when I asked to order it was that BMW has no more stock of this kit and that its unclear if they will be producing them anymore. This was a dealer in Germany, and they also said the factory will make a decision in January. Does anybody have any knowledge about this?

Hmmm....not hear anything on this. I would find it hard to believe that Mini would cease production of this kit unless the uptake has been tremendously low.

I would contact a dealer in the UK and see if they come back with the same response.

I'd have thought motoringfile or switchback etc would have picked up on this...

Personally I'd have thought the stage 1 jcw kit would continue - especially as it can be fitted to both manual or automatic cars (with fast autos being popular in the US...) They've also only just released the kit for the clubman - and both Chris at Woodmans and Woolaston mini still have their offers running on the kit - I'd have thought if there was a known shortage then at least one of the two above would have posted something...

I personally agree with both of you. I will try to contact a dealer in the UK and see what they say about it.

We have ordered and booked our car in for the 21st in Cotswolds Gloucester to have the tuning kit fitted. Checked with the dealer today and delivery of the "kit" is scheduled for the 19th. Haven't heard of any problems with availability in fact the dealers have deals on to sell them.

My dad purchased the JCW tuning kit and had it installed at the dealer in May 2010 so it is defnitely still availabe.
