Bought a second hand MCS R56 3 weeks ago and decided the other day to look what the spair tyre looks like but to my surprise realized that the mini does not come with a spair. that explains why the MCS comes out with Run on Flat tyres. After looking in my Manual I noticed that they show in there that you get a mini air compressor. My question is; Does the MCS come standard with this compressor or do you have to buy it as an extra?
I bought an electric high pressure tyre inflater even though I have run flats, just to save going into the garage to check the pressures, run flats do have a higher than normal inflation pressure, bit hard work with a foot pump.
I use a pressure for front/rear tyres of Bar 2.50 = 36 psi.
The run flats need a higher air pressure than normal tyre's. I check the pressures once a month. If you don't do this you will find the tread wears quicker on the outside tread.
I also have a high pressure tyre inflator which I run off the cigarette lighter plug. The garage tyre inflater's tend to be very inaccurate
Yes should do, mine had run flats as standard and came with a brace and jack too. Better complain
However youre in Australia, they might have differences there to here, like kangeroos etc
I am in Brisbane, and own a 2007 MCS, if I remember correctly I do not have a jack or wrench. I assume MINI Australia think if get a puncture we will drive on the Runflats to the garage. I am planning on adding a jack wrench and can of tyre weld as I am planning on getting rid of the Runflats.
i have a jack n brace in my MCS so i can take off the wheel, not much use as i have runflats, so if i take off the wheel, what am i going to put back on it? lol
Maybe they were thinking you might want to jack it up and rotate the wheel to a spot that wasnt flat
