wheel alignment tire wear problems

have an 07 S with 17765 miles on it. right front tire is wearing out like it needs alignment, but tire is separating much like the peices of tire seen on the highway from trucks. owning a sports car such as this is new for me. do these low profile tires go out faster than say the truck tires on our fj cruiser? thats not to many miles for a tire, plus these run flats are very very pricey and I havnt heard a good word about them. I'm thinking of just putting regular tires on it get a spare buy a jack and lug wrench and forgetaboutit!..thoughts. thanks for the help

Hi there. I have had low profile tyres on other cars that I have owned and have never experienced what your on about. I would say that power steering is hard on tyres the best of times, but his is usually on the outside edges.
I would get your alignment looked at to be on the safe side.
