Very hot engine bay/bonnet

I noticed my Mini was very hot around the engine bay today after a normal drive. Does anyone know if this is normal?

The turbo (which gets hot, obviously) seemed to be very hot and the bonnet was hot too. Hotter than I'd expect.

The car has only done 200 miles with normal driving. I've been gentle so far and maybe strayed over 4000rpm on a few occasions.

Thanks

Appears to be pretty common. You should see how hot the hood (bonnet) feels in Texas. Mine is always hot after driving. Just keep an eye on the oil level!

Thanks. I think I'll keep an eye on it but just spoke to the dealer who confirmed this is normal. I live in the UK so no chance the weather will do any damage, heat wise!

Pics to follow...

Yup! Cooling is covered by the weather, again.
