Service indicator on just for brake fluid

The service indicator has just come on for my Cooper S, but when I looked at what specifically needed attention it's indicating only for brake fluid top up.

Does that mean that if I take it in to the dealer that's all they will do? And can I do it myself? and then reset it?

Is it the symbol for brake fluid (circle with solid brackets around it and a wobbly line across) in the square display, with a date below in the main rectangular display? If so, then it's a brake fluid change. on cars built before Mar 2011 brake fluid change is due every 2 years. Cars built after Mar 2011, it's 3 years. The first brake fluid change is covered under the TLC pack (I've just booked my car in for it and the dealer confirms this). TLC terms are on the Mini website (this site won't let me include a URL in my post as I'm new) - do a google for mini tlc terms.

If it's not the above and you're seeing a circle with brackets around it and an ! in the middle, that does indicate low brake fluid. The handbook says to contact your dealer for service for that, which makes sense as low brake fluid indicates a leak somewhere.

However you deal with it, do deal with it though - brakes are pretty important

I'm in a similar situation, I purchased a cherished Cooper S in June this year (Jan 11 Model) and the brake fluid change indicator has come on, the car has MINI TLC with it so I presume I just contact the dealer and arrange this at no cost to myself?
With regards to how the TLC works, do I basically just follow the schedule of as and when the car tells me I take it to the Dealer and for the 5yrs/50,000 miles I am covered for all scheduled servicing?
Theres no set number of times I can go? Just as and when the car dictates?
Obviously for brake pads/discs etc I will arrange/do myself.
