I see quite a few mini cooper s on the auto trader with either the BHP kit / body kit. I gather a lot of these started off life as a normal s then the mods done at a later stage. If you put BHP mods on lots of comparision sites they won't insure you. Any tips on insurance for a JCW kit.
I'm stuck with this too, insurance goes up a great deal due to my age (18) when performance upgrades are checked on insurance comparison sites. Does anyone know the difference on insurance prices of a standard Cooper S, Cooper S JCW (factory) and a Cooper S with JCW (210) added?
I know if you have a factory JCW, because I have, they class it as a model in its own right, and not a modified Cooper S, but I would have thought if you had a standard Cooper S then added everything so it was the same as the factory JCW they will certainly class this a modified vehicle so will undoubtedly cost you more to insure.
JCW kit would count as a modification. I'd try someone like Adrian Flux particularly with MINIs and mods. Sainsburys are always worth a go too as in with them and they are I little mod friendly
