I running 39 psi all round which is the correct pressure in manual for 205/45/17. This seems quite high for a light car. All other tyre sizes are a lot lower. Why is this?
The same tyres on my SD Roadster want 41psi, It does seem a lot but I've found they definitely need that pressure for the best roadholding and lowering it does not improve ride comfort significantly.
I guess they need that pressure to hold such a squat tyre in shape.
Maintaining the recommended tire pressure along with a 4 wheel alignment will result in very even tire wear. I recommend asymmetrical tires so you can cross rotate as well. Directional tread patterns can only go front to back.
