I just bought a 2014 convertible Cooper S and didn't realize the alarm light does not come on. I called the dealer and spoke to the salesman and he said that this car does not come with the alarm. He said that was an option. My question is do you think that's true? The area over the steering wheel where the alarm should be turning on is in this car. Why the factory will add this to the car if there is no alarm? I need the alarm in my car!!!!
As far as Im aware its standard especially on a top of the range Cooper S. and Im pretty sure its on all models as standard now.
It wasnt on the options list when I bought mine as it was already a feature, because I thought good one less item to add.
Thatcham Cat 1 alarm system.
But yours is a USA spec? so could be different there?
However yours is a 2014, so is that the new new MINI or the older Gen 2?
It was standard on the Gen 2 here but I dont know about the very latest model?
It used to be mandatory to have a record to enter Australia but it's not the case anymore. However, a few light fingered beggars have managed to slip through the net, hence the need for a burlar alarm in our Mini.
