Inspired by Goodwood ed

Hello everyone, wow it's been a while since I've been on here. But the countryman is still going strong and my other half says she'll be a mini owner for the rest of her life

So I'm in the process of buying one of the exclusive Goodwood minisshould know by tomorrow what the finance options are and then it's waiting for the car to arrive at the dealership. It's not a new model but only has 5xxx km and is currently being shipped across to my dealership. Was looking at a low mileage GP2 a week ago but before I could get the deal going the car got sold from under my nose. Little did I know that within a week another special edition Mini would cross my way...

Sold my MCS in 2011 and have been driving S3's a Championship edition Type R and Golf 6 GTi since then but looking forward to returning to Mini. Very few cars hold the same appeal than what Mini has to offer...

Hoping everything goes smoothly with the deal and that the car is in good condition. Pricing is on par with other S models with similar mileage so reckon it's a good deal I'm getting. My jaw dropped when the dealer sent me the spec sheet earlier today cab is LOADED! I don't think there's an option that's not ticked so I'm super stoked at the prospects of driving a little Rolls..quite far from the real deal but probably the closest ill ever get to experiencing RR will keep you guys posted on the deal and should all go well I'll upload some pics
Cheers,
Jo

Car arriving in a week's time and then to decide....also looking at an A3 which is obviously 'just a car' and nothing really special but must say the new Audis are pretty damn nice inside...

How did you go with the Goodwood Deal?

I have owned one since May 2012 it is a Sunday and Club run car for us. I have a JCW Clubman as my Daily driver.

I was wondering on the Goodwood just how much quieter inside is it with all the thick carpeting etc than say a standard Cooper S, is there a considerable difference, is it up to RR standards?

It is quieter inside but it certainly isn't up to RR standards. However even after 2 years the smell of the leather is just awesome.

Mines only half leather and that leather still smells like it should after 2 years too.
I must admit the Goodwood is very very nice inside, I just wished they had made it just that little bit more exclusive on the outside too, instead of looking like a normal Cooper S.

Can only imagine the interior ambience as pics generally cannot portray the real look and feel. Watched a local motoring show's insert on the goodwood and they concluded that the general ride quality is surely nothing special and still very MCS like ...so I'm not expecting it to be that much different from a driving point of view.
By the way the one I'm waiting for is reef blue and not the diamond metallic black. Can't wait anymore but hopefully the car is still in top condition...regardless, I'll be giving it a proper detail as a welcome home present holding thumbs it's meant to be....

My JCW Clubman same age is full leather and smells nothing like the Goodwood. Outside I love the understated look at car shows it fun to watch the double take of people walking by.

Reef Blue is a lucky find around 90-100 Goodwoods were painted this colour. A Reef Blue Manual would be a real find.

You can buy here an in car air freshener thats gives out the proper leather smell, maybe I will try one.

Of course you could actually buy a very nice Rolls Royce for 41 grand and have all of the luxury inside and out and the ride, and the peoples double take when they wonder who you are.

I wasn't aware of the "Inspired by Goodwood" version of the Mini unitl I saw this thread.
Mental note: "Keep the wife away from Mini Dealership and any articles relatd to the Goodwood!"

Since your in Australia you are pretty safe all 10 cars that came to Oz are now sold. I have seen 2 come up for sale since both sold for over $70k one was a very rare manual car only 2 came to Oz.

The second hand values in Oz seem to holding up very well compared to Goodwoods in other markets.
