Have a used 2010 S I purchased in January. Car now has 56,000 miles. US model. I think it has every option minus stripes and satellite radio. It does have the navigation system.

Starting to have a electrical issue. I thought I would check here before proceeding. I suspect I have a battery that is on its last legs..

Car starts no problem. No hint of a failing battery.

Car does have the original battery. It does have a dark eye.

Car does have the IBS ground cable sensor. is what the car is doing...

Have gotten the 'increased battery discharge' message a couple of times.

Navigation system seems to be slow to boot up.

HVAC system will often go thru a door cycle at start up.

A couple of times the max speed HVAC blower reduces one speed down.

The navigation unit will shut down about 2 minutes after engine shut down. Used to be 7-8 minutes after shut down.

As mentioned..I suspect the original battery is showing it's age. That said...I thought I would check here in case there is a body ground or maybe the IBS is going bad before replacing the battery.

Anybody seen this? I would hate to buy a $150 battery and find out there is a common engine ground kind of issue..

Update....a new battery cured all issues. Even seems to have fixed a random car alarm issue if the car was parked and sunroof was left in the vent position.

Battery of choice came from NAPA. Model 7548. Even came with a small kit for the battery vent system. $127.

Did not reprogram the IBS. Car seems fine.

Car always started no problem with the old battery...just the secondary electronics were getting goofy.
