2008 / 2009 cooper s

Hi All

had a 2004 cooper s a few years ago and am now thinking of returning to the cooper s I am thinking of a 2008 / 2009 cooper s with about 35k on the clock keep hearing horror stories of the engine for this model and death rattle etc is this just a few people who have had issues or is this a serious issue with that model ? also anything else I should look out for

You'll have to purchase a MCS built March 2010 onward to avoid the problematic N14 engine.
