Went saturday to test drive 09 cooper s with just under 10k on the clock , going back next saturday to collect so can get funds etc sorted. Was well happy with the power! just seemed to want to go!!! aww it be hard trying to good in it, got to look after it thought. The handling seemed mint! reckon you could throw it round a corner. Didnt have to long so couldnt take everything in, heard people on here say about the turbo ( do you get that dump valve sound?? ) aww!! going to be a bit different from my w reg sazo vtr ha ha

Car - dark grey with black roof and mirrors , 17" wheels , chili pack , bluetooth , dark back windows.

Can anyone recommend what mats I should go for? unfort you cant see decent pics off the mini website , I do like how the rubber mats look like? and for cleaning them also i thought? unfort i wear big work boots.

I'm doing a test drive in a Cooper on Tues and if I like what I see I will have it as soon as I can after. Is there anything I should look out for.

Picked this one up on wednesday, only a 07 plate but to me its like brand new!

Few bits i wanna do,

change the side indicator vents to chrome
Retro fit USB ipod/Iphone kit
New Alloys pref black with white lining or vice versa
And eventually the Aero Kit, or at least a sportier looking kit

Collecting my new (used) Mini Cooper tomorrow and am ridiculously excited for a man of my age!

Used all sorts of excuses for justifying the purchase from downsizing, fuel economy, daughters car (she's 15), easier commuting but in the end I just wanted one.

I thought Lightning Blue was the best colour and found one locally very easily (first and only one I drove - hopefully won't regret that but it is from BMW/MINI dealer).

Brief Spec is:
Lightning Blue/White Roof
Chrome mirrors
Panoramic sunroof (heard some horror stories!)
Chilli Pack

A friend of mine was very enthusiastic about receiving his new Mini Cooper S with many additional extras. In total he paid 25 000.00 for it and took possession of it at the end of June 2010.
To his horror a few weeks ago when washing the car he opened the bonnet only to find that most of his wiring had been gnawed. The vast majority of the wiring is covered with a soy based tape which apparently is a "rodent delight", yes mice, squirrels and even rabbits go mad over it. He was devastated. He took the car back to BMW where he had purchased it and a temporary repair (only the wires they could get at) were covered in a different tape which cost him 500.00. This is not covered by the warranty.
The car was used every day and was garaged.
The strange thing is he has had many BMW's parked in the same garage for over 12 years and has never had this problem. My car an older Honda and has been parked in his yard for 2 years and never had a problem.

So all I can say is the best of luck with yours.

You have great taste in cars that are a blast to drive (atleast my 86 SE v6 was a blast to drive)
