United-Kingdom Opinions please on new Cooper spec

Having changed my mind a thousand times , here's my latest Cooper spec

in Astro Black

with the following options:

Mirror Caps In BodyColour
CD Preparation
Car Jack
Pass Airbag Deactivation
Remote Control Alarm
Roof In Body Colour
Astro Black
Colour Line Dark Grey
Additional Decor Rings
Heated Mirrors/Washerjets
White Indicator Lenses
Darkened Rear Glass
Anthracite Roof Lining
Front Centre Arm Rest
Sport Button
Smoker Pack
ASC+T
First Aid Kit & Triangle

CHILI Pack
Storage Compartment Pack
Sports Seats
Pass. Seat Height Adj.
Floor Mats
Chrome-Line Exterior
Rear Spolier
16"-5 Star Blaster Alloys
3 Spoke Spts Lea St Wheel
Interior Light Pack
On-Board Computer
Manual Air Conditioning
Front Foglights
Lea Punch Carbon Black

I am planning on upgrading to the R99 wheels in Anthracite, my dealer has said he will charge me £1000 for these and buy back the 16" blaster aloys for £400, is that a good deal

Any views on my spec appreciated, costs certainly add up, trying to stop getting carried away!

This is my first new car purchase so I'm a bit green as to negotiating a good deal.

Should I expect any movement on price from dealers, what do you think I should press for in the way of discounts or freebies! or are they more likely to consider reduced interest rates on finance? Is it worth shopping around? I get the feeling BMW aren't big on discounts!

Any help appreciated

Looks like a decent spec, the only thing that maybe worth adding is the Multi Function Steerin Wheel? £170 for cruise control & stereo controls both of which are really useful.

The deal your dealer is offering on the wheels sounds about right.

If you get any sort of discount at all from MINI you'll be doing very well! They don't give discounts out for a very often at all

Give me a clue - what haven't you specced?

No really it sounds very nice. I can only think of stereo upgrades/DAB/bluetooth. And personally I like the sunroof

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, mmmm now more head scratching, I guess you've all been through it!, better just check the old bank balance one more time!!

Looks like the MFSW is very popular, have to give that another look.

Cheers all

Thanks Andy, I'll give it a go!

Something I forgot to ask was about the 'seal and protect', this was on a draft quote priced at £200, I was planning on dropping this. I understand its a dealer applied treatment to the paintwork and seats, not sure if I want to fork out £200 for it though?

Any views on this one appreciated

Don't do it. Vastly over-priced and not as good as caring for the car yourself.

I have almost the same spec

AB/AB
pepperpak
DSC
heated seats, washers and mirrors
MFSW
auto aircon
sunroof
Hi-fi upgrade
white indicators
sportseats
alarm
sportbutton
piano dash
grey colourline
Additional Decor Rings
Anthracite Roof Lining
Front Centre Arm Rest
Smoker Pack

and I got a little discount, about £1200 without even pushing my dealer.
I say like some other people, MFSW is a really nice option. the auto-aircon is as well.

But hey nice spec, and AB..good choice. What was your first choice before you decided to go for AB?

choosing the spec & the long wait are the worst things about mini speccin is all down to how deep your pockets are & how short your arms are looks a monster spec for a cooper how much then , mfsw will make the difference, when is delivery date, buy youe own first aid kit mini 1 is overpriced

This is actually going to be my wife's car (but I might be borrowing it a lot!) and she demands astro black - non negotiable! her first ever car was a mini, a 1275GT in black of course!

I quite fancy the chilli red with white roof, but its not my call on this one. I think we'll drop the seal and protect and the first aid kit, jury is still out on the MFSW, tempting this one. My problem is I have very long arms and very short pockets!

Sounds like a mega spec!!! MFSW is great!!! Go for it We managed to get the Piano Black dash thrown in, and bevause of a mistake, they'll do 1/2 price on the iPod interface.
