Well as some of you will remember it's nearly been a year since I sold up my beloved MINI One (sob sob) and ive been MINI-Less but hopefully not for much longer!
Yesterday I went speccing and ended up test driving the R56 Cooper. Did I like it Oh yes ill be having one of them please!
Initially I thought of a used S, but for several reasons such as fuel consumption, warranty, insurance etc ive pretty much decided against it!
Rough spec idea's at the moment will be as follows!!:
R56 Cooper
Chilli Pack
Lightning Blue
Black Roof
Bonnet Stripes
Aero Kit (not straight away!)
17'' Crown Spoke Alloys
Cloth/Leather Interior (Pacific Blue)
Piano Black Interior Trim
Darkened Rear Glass
Front Seat Heating
Hifi Speaker System
A couple of other quick questions. Is the hifi really worth it, ive heard it's not as good as the old HK system which I miss iPod connection...Whats the best way to go?? Anything else you guys feel is pretty vital to have!?
I need to sell my car first, get settled into a new job then ill be ordering! Cant wait!!

wooooo yay!! Knew it wouldn't be long before you get back into a MINI! and Lightning Blue, great colour that I would recommend the hifi, I have it in my car and I love it! The iPod connection is also a cool thing to have, not something I have in my car - as I don't have an iPod, Matt has it though!
Have you thought about the Bluetooth/USB? Bluetooth means you can use your phone without getting fined , and the USB option means you can fit a wide range of MP3 players and get track info on the stereo. You get cruise control and an armrest thrown in with the MFSW.
My brother ordered his car on the 17th I think and it is currently at the dealers (had the JCW Bodykit fitted yesterday/today) and is being picked up by the end of this week.
And is it me or is that quick of Mini to get a new car built?
Nice spec mate, a point to note on the ipod connection that it can be used in conjunction with a multifunction steering wheel, you can also see the tracks displayed on screen, the Hi-FI is a must I had a Cooper Courtesy car for a week with no Hi-Fi, you can definatley tell a diference.
The downside of the Hi-Fi is that some of the tunes downloaded to your Ipod are automatically downgraded to fit on your MP3 player, so some poor quality tunes don't ride well when turned up very loud.
Remember haggle like hell with at least 3 dealers......
Identical colours and very close spec to my Dooper, well worth going for the pacific blue colourline it sets the leather on the seats off nicely, doesn't look right without it IMO. Heated mirrors worthwhile too, I have the darkened rear glass and like it, the HiFi is worth it too unless you fancy an aftermarket upgrade which may be even better but more money.
What's wrong with a bluetooth headest and a mount on the dash to hold the phone? Works for me and saves a few pennies too.
