  • Remote Control Alarm
  • Rear Spoiler (Chili Pack)
  • Chrome Line Interior
  • Chrome Line Exterior
  • Mirror Caps In Body Colour
  • Darkened Rear Glass
  • Floor Mats (Chili Pack)
  • Passenger Seat Height Adjustment (Chili Pack)
  • Sports Seats (Chili Pack)

I am undecided whether to go for the Blue or Red Interior

Also i am planning on using the Motability Scheme ( Click Here )

Is there anything that you think I don't really need on the spec or anything that I should have which isn't there?

Also how much is the JCW Aerokit now adays?

Thanks
Tom.

Car sounds very nice.

With a black car I would go for red or cream seats & colour line.

I would also add heated mirrors/jets, space saver spare wheel and hifi upgrade.

Bi-Xenons are always on my list!

I know this is not going to interest many people, but you might not want to get this car through Motability. I know it only costs £3500 initially (plus your options) but your weekly payments might be better used buying the car yourself over 3 years.

The deciding factor might be insurance - if you're quite young then the price of the insurance might tip the balance. Motability drivers don't pay insurance in case some people were wondering!

Just to add to that Stiggy, The Chili Pack and paint n air con are included on the package I would go for, but I don't now if it is Auto or Manual (note to self find that out).

Also when using Motability insuance, servicing/maintenance/repairs, road tax, tyres, breakdown cover, are all free last time I looked, also you get a 45,000 mile allowence over 3 years.

What is the normal mileage allowence on Mini Finance over 3 years? Just to compare.

Tom.

Motability

I'm sure you've been on the Motability website, but the prices are:

New MINI 1.6Cooper3dChilliACMP Petrol Manual £2853.00

NewMINI1.6Cooper3dChilliATACMP Petrol Automatic £3501.00

I haven't worked out your option prices yet, but I'm guessing another £500 on top of that. So you could be putting £4000 down and paying your £200/month mobility allowance for a car you give back in 3 years time.

MINI Finance is expensive, but it might be worth getting a comparison. Servicing/warranty is only £150 with the TLC pack anyway. As I said above, the real issue may be insurance.

I'm happy to help you work all this out, so send me a PM if you want.

OK so heres the car:

  • Mini Cooper £13025.00
  • Astro Black £280.00
  • Roof In Body Colour £0.00
  • 17" Crown Spoke Alloys (Chili Pack) £390.00
  • Cloth/Leather Ray Rooster Red (Chili Pack) £0.00
  • Interior Trim Piano Black £110.00
  • Chili Pack £2010.00
  • ASC+T £120.00
  • Multifunction For Steering Wheel £0.00
  • Sports Leather Steering Wheel (Chili Pack) £0.00
  • Remote Control Alarm (Standard) £0.00
  • Rear Spoiler (Chili Pack) £0.00
  • Chrome-Line Interior £105.00
  • Chrome-Line Exterior £0.00
  • Mirror Caps In Body Colour (Standard) £0.00
  • Darkened Rear Glass £120.00
  • Floor Mats (Chili Pack) £0.00
  • Passenger Seat Height Adjustment (Chili Pack) £0.00
  • Front Centre Arm Rest £0.00
  • Sports Seats (Chili Pack) £0.00
  • Storage Compartment Pack (Chili Pack) £0.00
  • Anthracite Roof Lining £115.00
  • Additional Decor Rings £0.00
  • Colour Line Rooster Red £90.00
  • Sport Button £90.00
  • Front Foglights (Chili Pack) £0.00
  • Automatic Air Conditioning (Chili Pack) £230.00
  • On-Board Computer (Chili Pack) £0.00
  • Interior Light Pack (Chili Pack) £0.00
  • Passenger Airbag Deactivation (Standard) £0.00
  • Car Jack (Standard) £0.00
  • CD Preparation (Standard) £0.00
  • Radio BOOST CD (Standard) £0.00
  • Bluetooth With USB Audio £505.00
  • 2nd Remote Key (Chili Pack & Standard) £0.00
  • White Indicator Lenses £50.00
TOTAL PRICE £17240.00

I am not sure whether to get the Bluetooth With USB Audio because I don't like the damn arm rest in the Mini's

If I was to use the Motability Package it would be: (Same Spec As Above)
  • New MINI 1.6Cooper3dChilliACMP £2853.00
  • 17" Crown Spoke Alloys (Chili Pack) £390.00
  • Interior Trim Piano Black £110.00
  • ASC+T £120.00
  • Chrome-Line Interior £105.00
  • Darkened Rear Glass £120.00
  • Anthracite Roof Lining £115.00
  • Colour Line Rooster Red £90.00
  • Sport Button £90.00
  • Automatic Air Conditioning (Chili Pack) £230.00
  • Bluetooth With USB Audio £505.00
  • White Indicator Lenses £50.00

TOTAL PRICE: £4778.00

As said above I am not sure about the USB Audio option, also as I said in a previous post I'll have to find out which air con is in the Motability Package, becasue It would be stupid of them to include a free option in the package and charge people.

And I tried Tesco Insurance for the hell of it to see how much it would be to insure me, and it was: Please Call Us So I am guessing it is going to be a couple of grand atleast.

Tom.

The bluetooth/USB is great, and you can remove the armrest if you really want to. Yes, Motability will charge you extra for auto-aircon!

If your insurance really is £2000, then Motability must be the way to go. My insurance is only £190, but then I'm a 40-year old boring git with a clean license!

If you have the Bluetooth Audio, you get the Multifunction Steering Wheel, does that mean you get Cruise Control free (in a way).

And why the heck do they add the arm rest if you can just remove it?

Very nice MINI you've specced up there, of course I am partial to Astro Black.
I have the cream line interior and though it looks very nice it does get marked (by dark clothes etc) easily, so going for the red interior would be a wise move IMO as it also looks great.
Are you planning to add an aero-kit at some stage - I got mine from Woodmans, also in IMO it finishes the car off superbly.

Tom.

Yes, the MFSW gives you cruise control, plus track/volume controls for your radio/CD/iPod/USB stick. You also get voice control for your phone which I wasn't expecting!

The armrest supposedly holds your phone, and apparently you can put a charger in there - still don't know how! My Cooper D is automatic, so the armest is useful for my 'lazy' left arm!

If it is not to dear at the time of ordering the car, I'll order it from my dealer and get them to fit it.

The annoying thing is I have just seen kmpowell's MCS in this thread:

http://www.mini2.com/forum/2nd-gen-e...ml#post3228031

And it looks so nice

And I have also emailed Motability today to try and clear up which air con they are on about.
