Scotland Now I understand why you go on those Mini runs……….

Just on to say “It’s as good as I imagined”

Just had my first day tip in the Mini coop from Glasgow to Fort William (on thursday -blue sky most of the time!). Up Loch Lomond, Tyndrum, Glencoe, Fort William. And what can I say fantastic, was not even driving like a nun and still got 57 MPG on the computer and when I got back and brimmed it and worked it out I still got 56 MPG. Amazing got to over 112 miles before the second light went out.
The road handling is a joy at times, you have the power to over take caravans with ease and even with the run flats was comfortable even with my sports seats. Guy in an X5 tried to keep up with me on the twisty stuff and gave up but had to calm down as the passenger was not amused at me getting faster and faster and I’m usual kapt. Slow.
God knows what an S like but the cooper is plenty fast for me. Worst thing all day was at one Roundabout it had those speed calming strips but they felt like mini speed humps…….that apart total class.
I love this trip at the best of times, done it in a good few cars but this was that we bit different in a good way.

57 mpg is great
Glad you enjoyed your run out. Have you got standard suspension?

Yeah just standard suspension, I forgot I had the sport button as well on the twisty bits……..I’m still driving like My old Honda, just a bit braver in the Mini. Someone that’s had there mini for ages would have disappeared and knows that what I was doing was not even close to pushing it….but great fun.

God knows how it turns with the sport suspension when it turns so well as normal…..

Now imagine doing the same thing, in the same car, but with 20+* MINIs doing the same route with you.

* I've used a low number of MINI runners because in the current economic climate less and less people are doing them.
