Cooper engine tuning quastion Hey guys. I'm thinking now t make some tuning on my 2008 mini cooper and wondering, how much power can be improoved. I want install K&N typhon + Miltek catback exhaust. What my expactations should be in this case ? I know that tuning of atmsphere engine make not much sense, but to be honest, i like a good car sound. Power improvement is a small bonus for sound. So if anybody know at least hp numbers for exhaust + CAI on non turbo cooper r56 ? Thanks, Koss. |

| my advice would be enjoy the cooper as it is ( I did ) while saving up for a cooper S. otherwise you would be just throwing money away and ruining a standard car. |

I've sent an email to Miltek motor tuning company and asked about what gain should i expect by using their catback exhaust on non turbo cooper r56... They answered that they cannot guarantee anything (becouse f to much depend stuff, like in what area car is using, how old car is, in what state engine right now, etc), but they would expect from 5 to 10 % bhp+ ! It means that in worse case without CAI i will get +6 bhp. I rad also on K&N site about gain from using typhoon CAI kit it will be from 2 on 4 bhp+ on 6000 rpm. Together in middle range it would be near 10 bhp+. So on my cooper 130 bhp will be at least something... Its not too much, but bhp+ came as a bonus... Mauin reason to install that all stuff is to make real kick ass car sound ! What do you think about those numbers, is it real to get them ? Thanks |
