Hill Start Assist Failure

So...my grievous tale of woe continues. The latest chapter in this story (for the rest visit the Clubman forum) is that tonight my "hill start assist failure" light has come on. Car no longer holds itself in place briefly on hills. Stopped to let someone off at a hotel, turned off engine. Turned engine on, got warning light.

Rear brakes were changed with clutch and flywheel replacement two days ago.

Any chance they are related?

Anyone else had a similar failure?

Anyone want to buy a Clubman?

I've never heard of the Hill Assist failing so it might be related to the work done on your car. Take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix your car properly

Went in this morning and went ballistic with them. They had the car up on the hoist in about 2 minutes and checked the brake lines, fluid, etc...

After 25 minutes of humming and hawing they declared it's an electrical fault but I can't get anyone to admit it's related to the change of the rear brakes just two days ago.

Now I'm supposed to live with this until 21 December when they will take the car in to replace waterpump, repair leaking turbocharger and fix the Hill start assist problem.

I get the car on the 23rd. Merry Christmas, ho, ho, ho.

Man that sux! Dealers will never admit they are at fault. The only thing I can suggest is go over the car with a fine tooth comb when you get it back. Don't leave until you are happy.
