stop wipers half way

Hi all,

With winter fast approaching, does anyone know if it's possible to stop the windscreen wipers half way up the screen so that I can put newspaper underneath to stop the windscreen icing up?

In previous cars, with the engine off, the wipers would move half way up the screen at a time then stop, to let you do this, but doesn't look like this is the case with the mini?

Switch them on then you just need to catch them just right as you switch the ignition off and take the key out.
Pity you dont have a heated screen?

On a 2nd gen car, I don't think you can stop the wipers at anywhere but the rest position.

Actually asked Williams in Stockport this morning when I was taking car in to get stop/start fault fixed (again!), and they've confirmed this isn't possible unfortunately.
