Driver's side door hard to open sometimes

Hi,

Twice lately it's been hard to open the driver's side door. The lever one squeezes will go in but it doesn't open the door. I try and try. I lock and unlock.

This was a problem occasionally in the winter when wearing gloves but now, when it's nice and warm out, I have to wonder if it's a design flaw.

I've never owned a car where it was hard to open the door. I think they should have done a better job with the mechanism, making it more positive.

Now, to top things off, one dealer is telling me the car is our of warranty. I bought it in May of 2011. Door handles are considered maintenance items? (Not a boot-to-bonnet 4 year warranty-covered item?) I'll check with another dealer. Maybe the first one just misread something.

Sigh.

John

Got a small inconvenience here, it was quite hard to unlock the driver side door with my key. The key went in fine but it did not turn. I could get it to unlock if I mess with it a little, but it takes quite a lot of force, so I just use the spare keys but all in vain. Then i call Locksmith coral springs.Their professional works with locks on doors, safes, cars, and much much more. They take a lock and open it through various techniques that they have been trained to perform.

The problem is real, SeanC. It continues to happen. Hope it doesn't happen to anyone else.

In that case John I'd pop the door panel off and get some spray oil on to the cables and the workings of the door handle. A good soaking should hopefully free everything up. The last thing you want is to burst a cable and then have to replace it
