Almond green would look fantastic, especially with matching green leather like the Mini cooper 35 ltd edtion or a nice cream colour interior like the later sportspack Minis. Eggshell blue would be great on the hatchback but would look really good on the convertible. And colours like Pagent blue and mullberry red were always popular.

Some good solid standard colours are needed, there is not enough choice at the bottom end of the range for people working to a budget.

Although Russet Brown can stay well and truly in the history books....... Nobody deserves that........

how can you say that about russett brown, its a true classic colour of its time

Wasn't Velvet Red a nod at Russett?

Hmmm.. I'm out on my own here.. but I liked Laser Blue It's close to my beloved EB. I wonder if they will make it exclusive to the S for 9 months like did with EB

I'm not adverse to that red either as long as it's got some zing to it in sunlight. Velvet red was very sombre

i like the laser blue too, maybe even more than the EB. But it suffers from the Astro Black syndrome, of not being the real thing.

The Nightfire red looks very smart - looks similar to the Rover Nightfire red or Peugeot Diablo Red

Silk Green wasn't too far off from Almond Green (AMRG). I thought it looked quite nice, and may have been tempted had it been available in 2004. I'm very happy with PW, but you're right on about there not being enough solid color choices. For instance, the absence of a true BRG is unfortunate. A non-metallic medium blue would also look nice.

It's difficult to tell from chips, but the samples presented here look like a rehash of EB and VR.

Was it really metallic? I thought it was a solid color.

It was metallic, but it never quite worked in my opinion.

This is the latest news from MotoringFile "A few weeks ago we had showed an exclusive picture of two new R56 colors; Nightfire Red and Laser Blue. We now have further details on those two along with a few others that will make up the R56 palette.

For starters, Nightfire Red will be avilable for the MC only. Think of it as taking Solar Red’s place. Laser Blue on the other hand will be an MCS exclusive and will be taking the place of the much loved Electric Blue. Oxygen Blue will be another MC only color and will be a (gasp) non-metallic color. It’s reportedly lighter than Laser Blue.

Other colors (as mentioned previously) will be Mellow Yellow, Sparkling Silver and Lightning Blue. Chili Red and British Racing Green are the only current colors that have been confirmed for the 2007 MINI. We should have a more full rundown in the coming weeks."

But from what I've been told, I'd be up for lightning blue.

Thanks but that was posted quite awhile back and doesn't have a complete list of colors. There's an updated story posted yesterday with more information including a final color list for both the MC and MCS for the US market.

Paul,

Any ideas what the difference of "3) pure silver met." and "4) Liquid Silver met." are? Hadn't noticed that in the list until today, and wondered.

Thanks.
