Lightning Blue Photos

This weekend the KAES Mini Club has been at Spa Francorchamps for the MINI Challenge racing weekend, we all had an awesome time and a rather unexpected surprise..

Before we got there Vikki phoned us and was very excited saying there is a R56 parked next to me! When we got to the track two R56s were there! One what I can only assume is lightning blue and the other Astro black!

These seemed to be prototypes as there was alot of cheap glossy plastic on the exterior and interior which is replaced with high quality materials on photos of the final production R56 and also they had very strange interior colour combinations such as red seats, red colour line and blue arm rests.. One thing in particular I did notice about them is the new exhausts, they are huge! Bordering on baked bean cans The astro black R56 seemed alot nearer the final version than the blue one.. Overall I liked it alot and I think the production version is going to be brilliant..

As normal there was tape over the MINI logos, which somone 'moved' on the second day.. The two guys from the Oxford MINI Challenge team had driven them up but denied that they were MINIs or R56s..

I know how much everyone has been waiting for photos of this colour so hopefully these are them!

No probs we were very excited to see them in the flesh - anyone with one on order is very lucky, they look great.. I'm going to order mine this month

Thats a very interesting colour combo inside! Not sure about the red with the blue arm rest!?!

The lounge leather interior looks brilliant! I really like it with the blue colour line too. Thats what I want so far on mine!

Was hoping that the lightning blue was darker too but its nice there in those photos. But at least its not purply which I was afraid it would be.

No sadly they didn't take them on the track.. The drivers were so secretive about them and as I say Vikki told me they denied that they were even the new MINIs, which does beg the question - why on both days did they choose to park them next to a MINI?!

Excellent thanks, I think it looks better with white roof with stripes personally (I would do as thats what I have ordered ) It finishes the car off nicely.
