Dilemma - R56 ~ AB vs DS MCS

Hi All,

Haven't posted for some time - tend to only post when I'm confronted with a MINI-tastrophe !

I've specced up and ordered a Dark Silver Cooper S for an (unconfirmed) March 1st delivery date - hi-fi upgrade, SS, chilli pack, DSC etc.

I'm really excited but I'm having jitters about the colour - I saw an Astro Black Cooper S today and it looked nicer than I thought (I usually don't like any kind of metallic black colours - currently got a Solid Black ONE)! Then looking on here I've seen a couple with the Aero Kit and thought WOW!

I've also seen a few pics of DS S's and whilst I think they're nice too I've not yet seen a DS that's made me go WOW - but I haven't seen one with an Aero Kit (despite having searched hard)... has anyone got any pics of a DS S with an Aero Kit?

It's getting late in the day, I know, and whilst the cars not been confirmed it will be delivered on March 1st (thought I did get part of that allocation) do you think its too late to change now?

Any help/ advice/ links/ pics/ sarcastic comments welcome!!

Definately Astro Black/Astro Black for me; they look great, shame it means you have to loose your contrast roof though.

It's funny how I faced the exact same dilemma!

I had originally ordered the MCS in Dark Silver but changed my mind 5 days later and changed it to Astro Black, basically for 2 reasons:

1. I expected the Dark Silver colour to be alot 'darker' - something similar to a graphite tone. Having reviewed Dark Silver Minis outside the showroom and under 'normal' lighting conditions, I was convinced that Astro Black was the only way to go to achieve that darker look I was looking for.

2. I blown away by the aero kit that I had to have it! Thought about it carefully and realised it wouldn't look so hot with Dark Silver.

Do you reckon its too late to change? I've not had any contact from the dealer since I sent off my finance form a few days ago (already paid the £250 holding fee)...

Know the feeling dude - I was frantically on photoshop the whole night trying to make up my mind!

Well, do what I did and give your sales manager at 9am in the morning! I'm sure that unless the spec for the car is 'locked', it should take your dealer less than 2 minutes to update the system and have the new vehicle contract printed out.

Right, I'm still allowed to change the colour of the car (but I have a matter of hours), just not the interior as my dash is being made as we speak

So... Astro Black or Dark Silver - any pics of a DS S with Aero Kit from the front GREATLY appreciated!

Right now changed to Astro Black... hope I've made the right decision... sure i have - 27 days to go :-)

Have many people had their R56 Aero Kit fitted at non-dealership bodyshops? Any good? What kind of price should I be looking for?

I love the way the Astro Black looks when perfectly cleaned and polished. AB/AB is definaly the best with the JCW aero kit, too.

But, I went DS/W. Cleared the paint shop on the 31st! Redwood Red interior and the thing gets H&R lowering springs and window tint as soon as it arrives.

Oooo.... exciting stuff my cars dash has been completed, its now too late to change anything and it will be made by the end of the week after next
