I take it these aftermarket sensors sit behind the bumper, as aposed to the official ones that have mold tubes for the sensors to fit in (the 4 black spot thingys) if you know what i mean?

Yes but its more expensive as a control option is needed.
On the rear they just come on with reverse gear
On the front you don't want them on all the time
So options are, they come on for x seconds once you come out of reverse
They come on for x seconds when the brake is pressed for so long
They come on when the speed drops very low via a can bus adaptor

ah, ok, was just wondering as it might be a nice addition for those that already have factory rear sensors

Motoringfile today posted the Mini installation guide for the retrofit park distance control for the front.

http://motoringfile.com/files/front_PDC.pdf

The instructions say the unit comes on when the ignition is switched on. A button turns it off. It goes back on when the car is put into reverse.

Any chance you can give me an indication as to how much it would cost to have the parking sensors fitted Mikey?

At the moment im seriosuly contemplating booking my car in with you for a day and having a load of stuff done in one go!

Integra Type R > MkV Golf GTi > Polo Diesel (dont ask!) > 06 Cooper S
