Mirror Caps - Fitting instructions?

Is there anyone with information/video/step-by-step guide on how to remove and fit the mirror caps?

My silly dealer wants to charge me (brace yourself) £100 in labour to fit the JCW mirror caps - a little excessive don't you think? These dealers in London must live in a world of their own!

From what I've read, the mirror caps just 'clip' on and off - am I right? I'm a hopeless DIY-er so any help will be much appreciated.

They do just clip on, but they are more difficult to remove without breaking the clips.

If you're not bothered about breaking the ones that are already on the car just yank them off and it will be obvious how to fit the new ones.

Thanks for the quick response Scrogg! Is there a pictorial/instruction guide that you know of and could direct me to?

Yep, here in FAQ & DIY. It'll give you a much less destructive way of doing it!

Must be pretty easy, some w*****r managed to pull one of my white mirror caps off, he was probably drunk at the time too! If I saw how he didi it I'd tell you! He did even leave it for me to pick up! Sorry do I sound bitter!

Anyway fitting the new one was easy, just pushes on. I was told at the dealer that if you want to take them off without snapping the clips you have to remove the mirror glass from the front, then prise the clips open to remove. How you go about removing the glass I don't know! Sorry.
