Front Windscreen Tint

Anyone tried tinting the front windscreen? Someone told me that the tint cannot be installed in one piece without any cuts because of the curvature of the glass. Is this true?

If you live ni the Philippines, tinting the car is a must for safety reasons and also to reduce cabin temperature

If you tint the windows all round (which is legal where you are from what you have said) you dont need to do the windscreen as the is such little light entering the car to eluminate you to people out side the car. Also driving at night would be imposable.

Downtown Manila might be a bit iffy, I went to one of the small islands (Cebu) with mrs Hartge & it was bootiful.

It's hot as hell over there & as Min 18 says, loads of people tint all their windows, I'm sure it can be done.

if you do all the windows but the windscreen it looks like its been tinted too, this is just due to how dark it is in the car.

MINI used to offer a top tint for the windscreen but this seems to be gone on the R56.

It's a MINI Clubman adventure!

We are used to driving with tints at night. My other cars all have 3M medium black tints. I don't know how many % that translates to but they provide good visibility at night

It is not dangerous to go for holiday here. Specially if you go to CEBU, DAVAO, Boracay and other provinces that tourists go to. However, in Metro Manila, I would suggest for those who will come to here to be extra careful but still, manila is generally safe.

I understand that, i was just saying the windscreen tint would make night time driving dangerous FACT. Thats why its illegal in 99% of the world.

I dont understand how its for saftey, if your refuring been shot at (wild guess), is it not a safe bet that a gun man would aim for a front window, or any window (not that a door could stop a bulit).

Let me explain . In the Philippines, being shot while in a moving vehicle is almost non existent. The reason why people tint their cars is because they don't want the bad guys to see who the pwner of these cars are. There are a lot of kidnappers and car jackers here and if they see a MINI or any other european vehicle, that means you have money. That makes you a potential target of kidnappers.

If your car is tinted, at least they cannot see who's driving or who owns the car. Tinting is not foolproof. At least the tint would provide an extra level of privacy and shield you away from prying eyes of bad people
