Cool or Not?

Hey there!

I have a Laser Blue/White MCS with bonnet stripes. I want to jazz it up a bit and was thinking about getting some checkered mirror caps and a checkered interior mirror cover. On looking at peoples pics, not many people seem to have this kind of thing and I was just wondering whether that's cos they look naff!

Cool of naff? Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks

I wasn't that keen on the checkered mirror caps... Until I saw a picture of a PW/B S with checkered roof and the mirror caps. It looked very nice!

If you think they look good then put them on, and take no notice of what anyone else says about them . It's never naff to personalise your MINI to your taste, in fact it's the name of the MINI owning game . Never be afraid to NOT run with the herd . Who knows you might even start a trend .

I think the reason that you haven't seen many people with them on, is down to the fact that they aren't a factory installed item, but a dealer only option. And if a dealer doesn't have them on display, then none of there customers will be tempted to buy them.

I may think they look good but that doesn't mean I have taste I totally agree about not running with the herd but I'd rather run with the herd than have somehting that people are going to look at and think 'ugh'. I don't think I'm alone in saying that half the point of owning a mini is for the 'wow' factor from others admiring your motor I want it to look good, naturally!

Mixed responses, now I'm confused!

Ooh goody, pics!

Does anyone know if the mirror caps/rear view mirror cover can be fitted easily or is it something the dealer needs to do? Anyone know what the fitting involves? My dealer has quoted me £40 for fitting both interior and exterior covers. I don't mind paying it if I need to but if it's something I can do myself then I'd rather do that.

I think you'd be surprised at the positive reaction you would get if you put these on .

miiiiiiiiiiiiiniiiiiiiiiiiiiii,

The interior mirror cover is a doddle to fit. It just slips over your existing mirror.

Plenty people have fitted exterior ones to an R50 and there are details around MINI2 - not sure if anyone has done this to an R56 yet.
