England Stone Chips : (

Im in a muddle, I have a stone chip on the front of my new mini (about 1cm) , Ive tried all the usual mobile stone chip repair companies, and smart repair places and no one wants to touch it. They say that the whole bonnet needs a rub down and respray .
Anyone have any other ideas of getting it sorted. All suggestiones must appreciated.

On the subject, I would say that it may be worth getting the front covered with protection film.

1cm !, that's a big stone chip. Because of the size it's going to be impossible to sort it fully but the following ( and a bit of time / trial and error ) should at least protect it and make it look far better.

Touch up pen from Mini required to fill the chip and build up level until proud of paint surface. Next using 'Langka' applied to a smooth cotton cloth wrapped tightly around a credit card, slowly rub the 'blob' until flush.

Depending where the chip is and the size of it depends on the end result.

If you dont want touch up pen, then a respray is your only option. Same thing happened to my odl mini and every one said it needed a respray. This is because of the curvature all over the bonnet. You cant spray a small section and get it 'even'

Good luck..

Thanks for your tip................. will try the Langka stuff.... had a go at a what can only be described as stone scrape on the bonnet at the weekend, but i will redo it with the langka as the the amount of build up was just too much with the T Up Pen..... cheers

on a similar note why do white cars ( sorry pepper white minis ) have dark grey/black primer and black cars have white primer ?? never ever understood that
