If i were you i wound rule out BMW replacements as they are 200% mark up on how much they really cost and around £110.00 a set. I would ask HIDS DIRECT for replacement bulbs as they are good quility and cheaper (also you can get higher Kelvin rating so you can have blue white 8000K tint ones instead of the yellow white 4300K original ones they come with. Heres a link Welcome to HID-Direct, We’re your no1 U. K supplier of HID products I would call them (you'll find the number in the "contact us" part) and explain what you need as they don't list them but more than likely can get them. Joe

Thanks Joe I will give them a call and see what they say!! I did see some xenon bubs in Halfords that were £15 pound a piece, I don't suppose they would be of any use? The chances of me being stopped and checked are pretty remote and I don't think Mr Gendarme would know the difference would he?? ![]() Cheers Dave DS R56 MCS + JCW AERO KIT

Im sure those are HALOGEN BULBS that are XENON charged as XENON BULBS are alot more than that normally. If its a common accurance that people are checked for spare bulbs im sure they will know the difference. If HIDS-DIRECT dont have any, try D2S & D2R GAS DISCHARGE HID BULBS And give them a call also as this guy is really good he deals with HIDS-DIRECT and lots of other XENON manufacturers. Joe

I thought I read somewhere that xenons are supposed to last the life of the vehicle. That'll be about two years then! ![]() On a serious note, how easy are the xenons to replace on the roadside? On the R56, you can clip off the black plastic backing easily enough to reveal the back of the xenons, but there are clips that look tricky if it was dark and you hadn't done it before. Carrying lightbulbs also aren't a requirement in every country in Europe.

I know matie, but with travelling through 6 countries France/Spain/Italy/Switzerland/Germany and Belgium in June I think its worth while buying them despite the "long life" of xenons!! I replaced the indicator bulbs on my R56 easily enough, I'm not sure if its as easy a job with the xenons tho, probably not knowing my luck ![]() Dave DS R56 MCS + JCW AERO KIT

i have found out that the bulbs are infact d1s bulbs, and they are not so difficult to change, you have to unclip the clips, and then remove the braided hose that just clips out the bottom of the ballast. hope that helps ![]() ITS HERE!!!!........R56 S, Sparkling Silver, Sat Nav, Redwood Red Lounge Leather, Sun Roof, web spokes, Colour coded arches click here...
