Roof Painting

Hi Guys,

I know this might be more a question for the guys in the ONE thread, but has anyone had their roof and mirror caps painted in something other than body colour / black / white? If so, how much did that cost, and who did it for you?

I'm thinking Astro Black/Silver on a hatch would look awsome, as would LB/Silver, or would decals do the job just as well?

I had the roof of my MINI ONE sprayed white by my dealer, it was £600 (waits to get slated for the cost once again ) they did a top job and it looked like it came from the factory.

However, it is possible to get the roof 'wrapped' in vinyl by a good vinyl fitter as demonstrated by Phil@ MINI Pirate (there are some pics about somewhere )

I did think of a decal, but I dont know if phil could exactly recreate a metallic color in vynil. I think if you want a change from black-> white or vv it would be perfect.

The dealer reckoned it would be about £500 and assured me it would match factory finish. I dont think the vinyl would be substantially less, given that it takes Phil most of a day to fit. Im thinking of vipers from him anyway, so Im sure he wont mind!

a full roof wrap cost approx £100 so you will save a lot of money and if you don't like it you can change it up to 4 times for the price of getting it painted. See phil at mini pirate he will help you.

Well I had mine painted at the dealers (robert stern) and it is exactly the same as any coopers roof. And I only paid £300

Hmm 300 sounds quite a bit less than the figures I have been quoted. I must look into this.
