Actually, horizon "space" blue is OK, but not nice enough to wait for so I just purchased a slightly used launch spec LB/s clubman S at a discount.

Felicia, Congratulations on your newly acquired MINI. Do you see a lot of MINIs where you live? If all goes as planned, we will be driving ours in the Virginia/ Washington DC area. It just might be Horizon Blue if not then it will be red....we think! ha,ha still lots of time to change my mind.

Now I am Looking forward to the commute! MINI Cooper S Cabrio

I live in philly. I have only seen a clubman on the road once, and that was a few blocks from the dealership so it may have been a test driver. I see minis all the time but not any clubman. Mine was purchased on ebay, as the local dealer was not discounting from MSRP at all.

Here you go guys.

How these look will depend on your monitor settings but I've tried my best to get the scan to match the actual image in the brochure.

Horizon Blue seems very dark, even darker than Space Blue?

My dealer seemed certain it would be almost identical to the Lightning Blue it replaces Guess we'll have to wait for a production car in this colour

Thanks for posting it though!

Perhaps it's too soon to criticize, but the question comes to mind: "what horizon exactly were they looking at?" Like where exactly and what time of the day/year? I found myself staring at the sky recently trying to get a glimpse of what might have been the inspiration for this color. Perhaps it's best viewed from an Airplane or hot air balloon... I know, I know ... I should be patient and "just keep waiting" sigh...

Now I am Looking forward to the commute! MINI Cooper S Cabrio

Thanks Joyrider81

I think I have to buy a new monitor! No matter how I look at the scan, I really struggle to see this as even a half-decent blue!

Not here much any more

Well, It is too soon to make judgement on the colours I think. Lets wait for some samples to appear in the showrooms and the configurator to be updated. From seeing it in the brochure here, I personally see it as a Greenish/Bluish/Greyish Colour. Much closer to Space Blue than Lightening Blue.

I'm advised that the new colour is embargoed until the R57 debuts at Detoit Motor Show in Jan.....so how come someone has it in a brochure already?

Because you're able to spec it from Week 50 builds (mid December) on the hatch and clubman, so waiting till January seems daft. The new literature is already being circulated around dealerships.

Horizon Blue will not be a convertible only colour, so there is no embargo on it.

So what are the colours unique to the R57 then? I thought it was going to be Inetrchange Yellow and Horizon Blue. Am I losing the plot?

Crikey, I was going to hold out for horizon but after seeing the shots of it now next to lightning blue I may go ahead ASAP before production on LB ends. Seems strange mini are discontinuing the lightning blue, why have two colours at different ends of the spectrum (laser being quite light, and the new horizon being VERY dark, almost like the current black which has elements of blue in it)?! mad. They need something in the middle, like the old hyper and indi blue.

Interchange yellow yes, Horizon Blue no.... as I said Horizon Blue will be available across the range from Week 50 builds

We might have to wait until Detroit in January to see the other convertible only colour (if there is another one)
