Xenon Retrofit - MINI Cooper Forum

Hi guys. I have a HID kit for my R56 Cooper, not really very impressed with it so I'm gonna be getting a bi-xenon HID kit when i go to uni in september. However, I know that the kit is illegal so I want to get the standard Xenon headlight unit (also so i can paint the inside). Or, can you get a cover with a projector lens? Thanks

By standard xenon headlight unit, do you mean the Xenon headlights that are an option on new MINI's? If so I don't think they can be retrofited.

yea. i'm not after the standard mini bi-xenons as i know they cant be retro fitted. I'm just after the unit with the washer and self leveler. I know the washer probably wont work but atleast if i get stopped, it looks like it has washers

I know it's not a Xenon kit or anything, but the Philips Diamond headlights are literally £20, look 10 times better and you don't have the hassle of compatibility and the risk of voiding your warranty. They take 10 minutes to fit, and that's if you DON'T know what you're doing, like me.

I personally think, although they're obviously not as good as full Xenons, they're a great middle-ground you could consider.
