LED Number plate bulbs and replacement indicator bulbs info needed please...

I'd like to replace the current bulbs that light up my rear number plate. I'm wanting to change them for white LEDs... a la new BMW 3 series models etc. I normally don't ever change things like this as it can look so chavvy but I quite like the effect of the LEDs on the plate.

Does anyone know which bulbs I'll need to do this?

Also, I want to change the current orange indicator bulbs for some high quality silver-effect bulbs. Silvatecs or equivalent would be perfect...

Does anyone know which type of pins (i.e. - offset or opposite) I'll need for the front and rear of my Factory JCW?

FINALLY, how hard is it to replace the side indicators... again, I want to fit the silver-effect bulbs to remove the "orange" look.

The indicators on the side scuttles are easy to change, just pop the bonnet open and push the scuttle towards the front of the car, it will slide out and the twist the bulb holder on the back and it comes straight out, ten second job.

It's a Mini Adventure.

Have seen a few BMWs with white rear number plate lights - is that standard now?

Yeah I think it is mate. I've seen it on the 3 series, they all have LED number plate lights.

Also there is a facelift 5 series which has day run style driving lights, they're a small strip of LED's on the front and rear light clusters in orange at the front and red at the back!

It's a Mini Adventure.

Thanks for the tips... was thinking the hardest ones to change would be the side indicators. They sound like the easiest now .

ive been looking for some while numberplate lights for AGES! cant find any anywhere

the front (side) lights you will need a light out warning canceller as the LED uses alot less power than the halogen, thus less current, triggering the warning. however, changing the light is very easy

I've sorted that. I use Ultra sidelights which are a standard filament bulb but look white when lit. No need for resistors etc etc. They're e-marked etc.

Mikey is a good place to go for bulbs.

Got these on mine at the moment:

Rear indicators:

NewMINIStuff.com

Side indicators:

NewMINIStuff.com

Front indicators:

NewMINIStuff.com

..and controversially, LEDs in the front sidelights

NewMINIStuff.com

..these give a bong and small warning as they draw less current and the car thinks the bulbs have blown but look the dogs...

Pics for side and rear indicators.

Photo of LEDs is poor. Need to do it in twilight and when it dries up too to show how they look - will also fit one normal on one side to show difference too.
