scratched my mini!!!

help i let my little cousin wash my car and i wasnt watching and he has 'scrubbed' too hard to get some spots of muck off and scratched the paint!

there are small scratches on the passenger door about 10cm by 6cm and the same on the bonnet.

how much is this going to cost me to sort out??? most of the little scratches are just on the serface but one is through the paint (i dont want to do it myself as i dont want to get it wrong)

any advice??

Lil red mini

I`d sue the little bugger for the cost of a professional respray
- Oh Sorry, forgot this was Britain !
- I meant to say give the Little charmer a pat on the head & a can of T-Cut as an apology for making those little hands sore

Thats why you should never let a child wash your car. Nothing good can ever come of it. If you want your car cleaned do it yourself.

Now for the scratches. Post some pics and i can help0 you. I own my own car valeting business and we find all sorts of scratches on cars that we are able to take out for customers. Most things are easier than you would think and normally can be done with easily obtained products. Post some pics and lets have a look and ill point you in the right direction.

As Turbs says, sounds like most of your scratches will polish out. A rough rule of thumb is; if you can't feel them with a finger nail they'll polish out. You can try this yourself with t-cut or similar compound. However, if your car is a dark colour you could end up with a dull patch.

A good bodyshop will be able to paint the scratch that has gone through the lacquer, and polish the others.

Wherabouts are you?

I would try before anything else Quixx scratch remover as T-Cut is a big no no. If you actually saw a sped up process of what that does to your paint you'de be sick. Quixx is the nuts and will deffo remove it if it cant be felt. Quixx is a chemical cutting compount so has no grit of any kind to cut the paint it just thins it instaed wich leaves no swirls and blends perfectly. The only reason its not used all over is due to its price per tube. Its about £10 but try that first then try a body shop if not. Im assuming LeedsMotorCo. is a body specialist etc. so he mite be able to do the work if neccessary.

Have you got any pictures?
