I'm getting a horizon blue mini with a white roof. I think it would look better with white bonnet stripes, but I'm not sure how long they will last. Does anyone know how long it would be before they start looking worn? Any advice? Thanks!
I got my MINI in October last year, and the white stripes are already slightly discoloured (a slight hint of brown) as well as missing in a few small areas, presumably due to stone chips. I think that at some point, a couple of years from now, I'll be getting them replaced.
MINI give you a 12 month warranty. Having been the not so proud owner of a MINI roof graphic that disintergrated after 2 years I wouldn;t buy OEM again. You want a good 7 year vinyl supplied by a reputable company. Try someone like Cooperflags in the US, or better still speak to Phil at MINIPirate. There are loads of examples of his work on here as he was a sopnsor up until last week, when he had enough like the rest. You'll now find him on MINI PIRATE.com || 2008 || Mini Decals & Graphics, or totalmini.
Another thing I'm worried about is that I was told by the dealer that the paint will slightly fade over the years. The paint under the stripes will be brighter than the faded paint so it will look bad if they are removed. If they stop making the same stripes, I'll be stuck with worn-looking stripes. I don't think I'm going to get them. Thanks for your advice!
There'd be no point using a uk company when postage (and chances of damage) had been taken account of. Go to a local graphics specialist - they should easily be able to sort you out
