Black Cooper Wonky trim

I've just bought a cherished Cooper 07 (1 week ago) I've noticed that the chrome trim around the drivers side quarter panel is not alighed with the windscreen trim, it's dipped by about 1 cm. Ive also found a area inside the door fold along side the hinge that does not seem to have been paint sprayed a strip of about 7 cm. I worried this may be a sign of poor bodywork repair anyone else found similar ?
I'd like to add that I love this site

could be a repair, sometimes hard to tell, can you contact previous owner ?

take it back to the dealer and ask for it to be fixed.

I'm waiting for the Log book to come, to try and do that. I've got to go back to sort out a Mot as their machine was broken and I wouldn't be able to pick up car till day the snow was due if I waited for it to be fixed. I'm getting a friend to cast a eye over it at the weekend to see if he can find any other problems. Can't work out how that slipped by the Cherised mini inspection bit

June, I wouldn't put any faith in the cherished inspection !!.........but at least you should have the cherished warranty.

you need to make sure that all problems are fixed during the warranty period as it can cost you big bucks if not.

the cooper's a great car and I'm sure you will enjoy it........let us know how you get on.

Vines of Redhill !!!

Took my car back to Vines of Redhill a 50 mile trip and was to put it mildly very disappointed. They have not confirmed that it has had any bodywork repairs but they are willing to fix the problem. While the car was there it had its Mot which could not be done when I bought the car due to the machine being broken. I was booked in for 11am I arrived at the dealership at the booked time I was then informed I needed to go to the BMW side of the site, this i duly did. I booked in did the paperwork gave them the keys and went to sit down 15 mins later I was informed they could not do the Mot due to me being late and missing my slot, I would need to return another day! I informed them I was in the dealership at 11 and if I had been informed to go to the BMW site I would not have been the 5 mins late as this was the time it took to cross the dealership and wait for reception to direct me to the service desk.

They agreed after a few strong words to carry out the Mot for 3.30, a 4 hr wait it was suggested I may like to go shopping. I Insisted on staying to sort out the problems with the paintwork and trim I was fobbed off with they would do a inspection with a paint sensor check. My car was returned at 3.40, my Mot was given to me and nothing was said about the Mot but I was advised the Paint shop would phone me to book the body work repairs as they belive the paintwork has come into contact with something corrosive!

Stupidly I did not check the Mot! On arriving home I discovered I have been given a advisory note as the reversing lights are not working at no time was this mentioned during the paintwork discusion or handing over of the paperwork. On phoning the mini dealership I was asked why didn't they fix it? My question as well I was informed it can be fixed under warrenty at a dearler nearer to home.
I cannot belive how crap the BMW service/ inspection is. Tomorrow I'm taking the car for a inderpendent inspection as i do not trust BMW/Mini, great start to 3 weeks ownership
