United-Kingdom Advice re cleaning roof decals?

Hi Folks

My silver bonnet stripes are still bright and shiny after a few years in the sun, but the silver chequered roof decals are getting rather sad and faded, more a dirty grey. All factory/dealer fitted from new.

Anyone got any recommendations for some effective cleaning stuff, that might bring the roof vinyl back to life without damaging it?

I'm on the south coast UK, so maybe it's just UV and salt air taking their toll, and it's time for a new roof decal altogether!

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers

how many years old are they? BMW only use a 5 year vinyl i think and after 2/3 years it goes really brittle and not good to get off!

Time for a new one I'm afraid. Heat up the old one with a hair dryer and peel off, do not scrape at it with anything hard or you will mark the roof, you can get off any glue residue with a rag soaked in petrol then give the roof a good polish.

About three and a half years old. Maybe passed their sell-by date!

Thanks for your comments.

And thanks for the advice Daytona - yeah, maybe time for a change.

Maybe a set of all-over vipers this time? Hmm...

Appreciate your help folks
Cheers
