This is a colour I'm considering for my next MINI. Think its one of those you definitely need to see in the metal first though, as it can look very different in the various pics floating about at the moment

Couldn't agree more. I'm wanting a new MCS, the time is right , sorted out a good deal with the dealership on trade-in and finance. Problem is the colour. It's a major stumbling block with the limited colour choices on offer. Ideally, I would love a White Silver but it doesn't look like the UK is going to get it. (Not a problem if you live in Germany tho, WS is an option on their configurator, not the Camden model either) I love metallic black and dark silvers and have had them in the past but I'm a bit of an obsessive on swirl marks and those colours show them up the worst. I've had disasters when my car has gone in for a service and as a matter of routine the garage has washed it covering it with scratches & the dreaded swirls. For that reason, I now opt for light metallics and unfortunately MINI don't have a lot of choice to offer me. So getting back to the subject, I love the idea of orange, loved Hot Orange but I'm unsure on this Spice colour. From the pictures I've seen, in bright sunlight it looks good but in subdued lighting it looks quite brown which I wouldn't be too happy with. So I'm waiting with bated breath for the showrooms to get one in. Looking forward to seeing Eclipse Grey too. May consider that if it's not too dark.

Originally considered a Spice Orange but it isn't all that different from the colour some MINIs I've already seen 04/05 plates. Now if the colour had been BLAZE orange, I'd have had that in a minute. I had a blaze Mini in the 70s. First ever new car. When it came out it was a real eye catcher. You could almost see saying 'That is one bright Orange Mini.'
Excellent colour for a wee car!
So disappointed with Spice and have ordered Chilli Red instead saving £335 so added controls on the steering wheel (adds Cruise Control)

Nice one! Congratulations. CR is a timeless colour. I don't think Mini will ever get rid of it. What colour roof have you gone for?

Yep ordered a Spice Orange S hatch on Friday. Love it, love it, love it. Though I suspect it is a bit of a marmite colour. Black lounge leather seats to go with it.

Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help
but smile when you shove them down the stairs

Wow. How do you know you love it? Have you seen the paint colour in the 'metal' as it were? What colour roof and alloys have you went for? Went to my local dealership today just on the off chance that they might have an Eclipse Grey or Spice Orange MCS in but they haven't as yet but they did have new colour range of testers up on the wall and SO was one of them. It's a fantastically intense tangerine colour in bright light but in shade it actually looks like a solid tan/brown colour which disappointed me a bit. I think you're right about it being a marmite colour and up to now I'm still on the fence but things may change once I see it for real! I want to love it!

I love Spice Orange based on pictures and a small square in the dealers. I like to think of it as a bold colour in the light and a deep bronze in the shade. Did you say brown? Roof is also Spice Orange and the alloys are standard. I have a set of replica R90 cross-spokes in the wings.

Thanks for posting the pictures. It's convinced me that I was correct in not going for the Old Spice. Interested in the alloys though. It's those ones I have ordered.

those pictures don't do the colour justice what-so ever! i saw a cooper D convertible at goodwood festival of speed earlier this year and i was stunned at the depth and brightness of it..... i'd definitely consider it if i was buying a new mini....

here is a picture of the car at goodwood.

I know what you mean about depth of colour, when I first saw the colour on a swatch in the showroom, I took it out side in the light and the intensity of the colour was immense. It was a bright and intense tangerine metallic. In the shade it was totally different but then the day I took the pictures of the Cooper D, even in quite bright sunlight the colour was different again to when I first saw it on the swatch. It just wasn't the same colour. I think Spice Orange has lots of different faces dependant on the lighting conditions.

I think I will have to see the car in person, It certainly isn't a photogenic colour!

that picture i uploaded was shot by a 50D in raw format, so what you see on the picture is pretty much exactly what you will see in real life..... i think on a dull dark rainy day it will be what you see to the right of the bonnet
